Speed Mentoring

17.10.2018

On Wednesday 17th October, PGIM Real Estate hosted the next in Real Estate Balance's Speed Mentoring series.

Real Estate Balance held its 5th Speed Mentoring event on Wednesday 17th October. The evening was kindly hosted by PGIM Real Estate and was a great success with 28 mentors and 28 mentees  - men and women – attending, representing 25 Corporate Member companies.

Elisabeth Teo-Pennell, Managing Director, Business Development, Europe at PGIM Real Estate and Founder & ManCo member of Real Estate Balance kicked the evening off with a short welcome and overview of Real Estate Balance, highlighting the progress the organisation has made since its launch in 2015, attracting the support of now nearly 70 corporates, from across the real estate industry, who have joined as members. Elisabeth pointed out that initiatives like the recently launched Survey, Good Practice Toolkit and these popular and oversubscribed speed mentoring sessions are the practical tools that Real Estate Balance is offering its members in order to help make change happen and achieve its Vision.

The Speed Mentoring evening was a lively event with the room buzzing with conversation as it was an opportunity for the mentees to ask questions and benefit from the experience of senior professionals in our industry, as well as for the mentors to gain insight into the challenges and ambitions of the young professionals in our industry.

The evening was also an opportunity to build networks across the industry and Real Estate Balance would like to thank PGIM Real Estate for its generosity in hosting the drinks and canapes that made for the very enjoyable networking that ended the evening.

Feedback from those who attended as mentors and mentees was positive:

"I didn’t know what to expect as I haven’t been to such an event previously but was pleasantly surprised! Found it really useful to have open, frank conversations with my 3 mentors about work/life. The 20 minutes with each mentor flew by. Good mix of backgrounds & I definitely took a few interesting points away. Thank you for introducing me to the event, I would be interested to attend again." - Mentee

"I thought this was an excellent event and a great opportunity for the mentees to spend time with a cross section of mentors from the industry. The size of the event was good for networking for both the mentees and mentors." - Mentor

Please look out for the announcement of our next speed mentoring event which will be held in 2019.
